Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS)
The field of human reproduction is constantly advancing, bringing tangible benefits to patients. This is most recently evident for women experiencing the doubt and grief common with recurrent pregnancy loss. There is new hope with recently developed techniques that allow selection and transfer of only the most healthy embryos.
The approach, using Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS), has been shown to reduce the chance of miscarriage. In fact, it appears to improve the successful reproductive chances for some older women who have experienced pregnancy losses associated with genetically abnormal conceptions.
Finally, there may be a way of reducing the impact of a woman’s age on her pregnancy outcome.
This breakthrough technology was first implemented on the Florida/Alabama Gulf Coast area in 2010 by the leaders at New Leaders In Fertility & Endocrinology. The successes have been astoundingly positive.
Hope has come at last to improve the chances, and restore confidence for women who suffer from repeated pregnancy losses. If you or someone you know has experienced pregnancy loss, please be encouraged and encouraging to them to learn more.
