Egg Cryopreservation near Me

If you’re interested in growing your family in the future, egg cryopreservation is a fertility preservation option that can help you build your family when the time is right. Egg cryopreservation, also known as egg freezing, is available at NewLIFE Fertility locations. Our fertility specialists can explore your options with you and help you build a plan for your reproductive future.

Who is a Good Candidate for Egg Cryopreservation?

Egg cryopreservation is an option available to anyone interested in freezing their eggs, so they have choices later in their lives. There are many reasons people choose to freeze their eggs, including:

  • You want to have a family, but not right now.
  • You are undergoing in vitro fertilization and do not want to fertilize more eggs than you want to use for this round.
  • If you are transgender and want to preserve your fertility before gender-affirming care.
  • If you need medical care for a condition like cancer or an autoimmune disease.

Our fertility specialists are here to guide you through the egg cryopreservation process and support you in using your thawed eggs to pursue pregnancy when the time is right for you. Our fertility centers offer other fertility treatments, such as IVF, to help you grow your family when you’re ready.

How Does Egg Cryopreservation Work?

Egg cryopreservation will begin with a consultation with a fertility specialist. Your fertility specialist will review your medical history, family history, and future reproductive plans with you. Based on that information, they will create a personalized fertility treatment plan that meets your needs.

You may be given medication to stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple mature eggs. Your fertility specialist will monitor the maturation of these eggs to determine when they are ready for retrieval. When the eggs are fully developed, you will self-administer a “trigger shot,” a hormone injection, to prepare your ovaries to release the eggs.

A short, minimally invasive surgical procedure, under mild aesthesia, called an egg retrieval, is scheduled soon after your “trigger shot.” Your fertility specialist will collect and freeze the mature eggs for long-term storage. When you’re ready to use them, your fertility specialist can thaw the eggs.
